This provides a forum for ASHHNA to participate in the broad issues that impact upon nursing specialties such as the development and use of competency standards, the use of technology and nursing workforce issues. Jo Perks represents ASHNA at twice yearly meetings.
ASHHNA was invited to send a representative to this group which was coordinated by the Commonwealth Department of Health. The purpose of the group was to examine the scope of current national sexual health related activities and programs funded by the Commonwealth and to explore the need for a national sexual health strategy..
The purpose of this national board is to provide medical input and advice regarding educational programs and materials on HPV developed for health professionals and members of the general public. ASHHNA has been invited to nominate a representative to be on this board. Sue Porter agreed to be involved in this project.
ASHHNA is frequently requested to comment on relevant documents from a range of health departments from the perspective of sexual and reproductive health nursing.
ASHHNA is represented on the NSW Sexual Health Advisory Committee.
